This is a read-only version of the program. Exercises for each lesson are not available on this version.

This program has been specially designed to help you improve your English writing skills. Student's writing from the Department of Applied Foreign Languages was analyzed to find common mistakes. The 6 lessons in this online course are directly targeted to overcome these weaknesses. This interactive program offers the opportunity to practice your writing while providing direct feedback to each student for each essay written.

Meet the Writing_Wizard. He will offer you creative ideas as you write as well as providing you with a checklist for verifying your writing before you submit it. You can click on him from any part of the program to receive his help.

 

Next take a look at the banners. Notice the CKIT Library at the top left of the page. It links to the CKIT homepage. Below it, you will see some helpful online writing tools. an excellent online resource is the Wordsmyth English Dictionary which shows you spelling, definitions, and parts of speech. Also, the infamous Dr. Eye is at your service offering a link to an online Chinese-Enlgish Translator. These two tools will be invaluable and convenient as you write.

Also you may want to check the Examples of student's writing to give you an idea of the style and level of the writing submitted by others. You will notice teacher feedback in red and the corrected essays rewritten by the student. Studies show that practice and feedback are key to improving your writing skills.
